Planning your visit

Planning aesthetic treatments before a wedding or special occasion

A wedding or special occasion can make treatment timing feel urgent. Give yourself room for a consultation, recovery and a decision you feel comfortable with.

Karen in the Aesthetics of Downpatrick clinic

If you are considering aesthetic treatment before a wedding, holiday or celebration, tell me the date before we plan an appointment. Whether you are getting married or attending as a guest, we need to leave time to discuss your options, prepare for treatment and allow for recovery.

At Aesthetics of Downpatrick, I offer free consultations alongside facials, peels and other aesthetic treatments. We can talk about what you would like to address and what is realistic before your occasion. There is no need to book treatment simply because a date is approaching.

Start with the date and what you want to discuss

Tell me when the occasion is, whether you will be travelling and what you would like to discuss. You may have a particular skin concern, questions about a facial or an interest in a treatment you have seen elsewhere. Explain that in your own words rather than feeling you need to book the most familiar product name.

It is useful to mention anything else that affects your diary, including work commitments or other appointments. A plan should allow room for the treatment and any follow-up, including preparation, possible recovery and follow-up. The timing depends on the treatment, your skin and how you recover.

Choose a conversation before choosing a treatment

The consultation page explains my free skin consultations, full-face assessments and anti-wrinkle consultations. If you are unsure which appointment matches your question, contact me before booking. Describe the occasion and what you would like to discuss, and ask which appointment is the best place to start.

You do not need to turn up with a complete plan. It can be more useful to bring two or three questions and a clear idea of your priorities. You can also explain what you would prefer to leave unchanged, how much time you have available and the budget you want to work within.

Facials and peels have separate appointment options

The Skin Sanctuary uses PCA SKIN products and includes several facial and professional peel appointments. I offer the Red Carpet Facial alongside the Express Medi Facial, Brightening Facial and Deep Detox Facial. You can read the descriptions and ask me how each would fit your skin concerns and the time available.

There is also a BioRePeel Skin Peel page, with single appointment and course options. A treatment name alone does not tell you whether it is suitable before your event. Ask about preparation, aftercare, possible visible effects afterwards and the timing I would recommend after assessing your skin.

Allow room to understand injectable treatments

If you are interested in an injectable option, leave space for a proper discussion of suitability, risks, limitations and follow-up. You can read the BabyGLOW treatment page and the skin boosters page, which includes Profhilo, Belotero Revive and Seventy HYAL. You can note any questions about the treatments and bring them to your consultation.

For questions about facial balance or lips, the dermal fillers page outlines my treatment options. Reading it does not commit you to a treatment. Tell me about previous aesthetic appointments, including the products and dates if you know them, so I can take them into account.

Ask about the whole plan, including costs

Before booking treatment, ask whether it involves one visit or several. Discuss what any course would cost, how the appointments are arranged and whether you would need a separate review. Current options and prices are listed in AesthetiDocs, and I will explain the cost of your plan before you decide.

If you are working to a fixed budget, say so. We can keep it in mind from the start. Make sure you understand what you are booking and what any later appointments are for. You can take notes or ask for an explanation of anything that feels unclear.

Keep follow-up in your diary

Ask how to contact me after an appointment, particularly if you will be away from home. The review appointment page explains the free 10-minute check-in I offer after treatment. Discuss whether and when a review would form part of your plan.

Follow the instructions provided for your specific appointment. Advice associated with a different treatment, a friend’s experience or a social media post may not match your situation. If you are uncertain about an instruction, ask me to explain it before changing your plans.

You can still decide against treatment

A special date can be a reason to ask questions, but you do not have to proceed with treatment because you have started the conversation. You can take time to consider the information, choose a later appointment or decide that you are comfortable leaving things as they are.

To begin, view the free consultations I offer in Downpatrick and follow the online booking link. If your question is about a particular date, contact the clinic and include it in your enquiry. Knowing your date helps me advise on timing, including whether it is better to wait until after the occasion.
