I begin with a free consultation to understand what concerns you about your expression lines. I assess your facial movement, review your health history and explain the options and their limits. A consultation may lead to a treatment plan, or to a recommendation not to have treatment.
We'll start by reviewing your consultation, discussing your concerns and assessing your facial muscles and how they move when you make different expressions.
Once we've agreed on the areas to treat, I'll cleanse your skin and use a series of small, precise injections to relax the muscles responsible for expression lines.
The treatment itself is relatively quick, with minimal discomfort, and you can usually return to your normal daily activities afterwards.
Results gradually develop over the following days, with the full effect usually visible around 2 weeks.
Before you leave, I'll talk you through your aftercare and arrange a follow-up if needed.
05 / Frequently asked questions
Before you decide. Your questions answered.
I will talk through anything specific to your skin, health or treatment at your free consultation.
Does treatment hurt?+
If an injectable treatment is suitable, you may feel brief pinches and some stinging or tenderness. I explain the procedure and comfort measures before we begin.
When will I see a change?+
Changes generally develop over several days. Allow around two weeks before assessing the response; the timing depends on the treatment and your individual response.
How long does it last?+
The effect of a suitable prescription treatment is temporary, commonly around three to four months. It can be shorter or longer. I explain the expected duration for the option we discuss.
Is there any downtime?+
Small injection marks, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur. You may feel able to return to everyday activities, but visible bruising can last longer. I give you specific aftercare instructions and help you plan around important dates.
How often would I need another appointment?+
A review checks your response; it does not automatically mean more treatment. Repeat treatment is often considered after three to four months, and generally no sooner than three months for prescription options. I assess whether another appointment is appropriate.
Will treatment remove every line?+
No. Lines visible at rest may respond differently from lines that appear with movement. I explain what each option may change and what is likely to remain, so you can decide with realistic expectations.
Who should wait or avoid treatment?+
Please tell me about pregnancy or breastfeeding, medicines, muscle or nerve conditions, previous reactions and any infection in the proposed treatment area. These can affect suitability. I review your health history before recommending an option.
What should I do if I have a concern afterwards?+
Contact me promptly using your aftercare instructions. Eyelid or brow drooping and unwanted muscle weakness are possible risks that I discuss beforehand. Difficulty breathing, swallowing or speaking needs immediate medical help.
